Privacy Policy

This policy explains how JobLens AI handles information when you use our Chrome extension, marketing website, and API services.

JobLens AI is operated by MGC, an independent software studio based in France, which is the data controller for the processing described here. Our full legal and registration details are being updated following a change of registered office and will be published on this site as soon as that is complete. In the meantime, you can reach the controller at joblensai-contact@proton.me .

We process account identity through Clerk and billing information through Whop. We do not receive your passwords or raw card numbers from those providers.

In the extension, your settings and dismissed-job state are stored in browser sync storage tied to your browser profile.

The only job content we transmit for a summary is the description text of the posting you are viewing. We do not transmit your browsing history, your keywords, your blocked companies, or your dismissed job IDs.

Alongside it we process your account identifier so that the summary can be counted against your weekly free allowance or your paid pass.

Which AI provider receives the job description text depends on how you use JobLens AI:

• Free tier and paid pass: the text is sent to Google's Gemini API using our own account.
• Bring your own key: the text is sent to the provider you chose - Google, OpenAI or Anthropic - using your key.

Google, OpenAI and Anthropic each state that they do not use API inputs to train their models by default.

If you supply your own API key, that key is stored by the extension in your browser's local storage and is sent with each request only so that your chosen provider can authenticate it. We do not store your key on our servers and we do not log it. Because it is held in your browser in plain text, we recommend using a key that is scoped to this purpose and has a spending cap.

To operate the free allowance and the paid pass we store, against your Clerk account, a count of the summaries you have used, the remaining balance and expiry date of any pass you have bought, and the identifiers of purchases already credited so we never credit one twice. Without this we cannot tell a free request from a paid one.

We also keep a short-lived server-side cache of summaries, keyed on a hash of the job description text, so that a posting many people are viewing is not sent to the AI provider over and over. A cached result never uses up your allowance. The cache holds job posting text and its summary; it is not linked to your identity.

Each request is logged with a request identifier, your account identifier, the mode and model used, token counts and the resulting cost, so that we can bill correctly, detect abuse and answer disputes. These logs do not contain the job description text.

We use this information to authenticate your account, count your free weekly allowance and any paid pass, generate AI job summaries, prevent abuse of the service, and provide support.

We rely on these service providers to operate JobLens AI:

• Clerk for authentication and identity, and for storing your usage counters and pass balance
• Whop for payments and receipts
• Google (Gemini API) for job summary processing on the free tier and the paid pass, and for bring-your-own-key users who choose Google
• OpenAI for job summary processing, only for bring-your-own-key users who choose OpenAI
• Anthropic for job summary processing, only for bring-your-own-key users who choose Anthropic
• Vercel for hosting, infrastructure operations and request logging
• A managed key-value store hosted in the European Union for the short-lived server-side summary cache

Several of these providers are established in the United States, so the data described above may be transferred outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it.

• Dismissed-job entries: up to 90 days in your browser's sync storage.
• Local summary cache: up to 24 hours in your browser.
• Server-side summary cache: a short period only, after which the entry is deleted automatically.
• Usage counters, pass balance and expiry: held in Clerk for as long as your account exists, because they are what your entitlement is based on.
• Request logs: retained for up to 90 days for billing accuracy, abuse detection and dispute handling.
• Account and payment records: kept as long as required to meet our accounting and tax obligations.

• You can uninstall the extension at any time.
• You can clear browser storage from your browser settings.
• You can remove your own API key from the extension settings at any time.
• There is no subscription to cancel: a pass is a one-time purchase that simply ends. Your receipts are available through Whop.
• To request deletion of your account and associated data, email joblensai-contact@proton.me. We respond within 30 days.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection to processing of your personal data.

If you are in France and believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes), cnil.fr . If you are elsewhere in the European Union, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

JobLens AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
