How to sort LinkedIn jobs by date (2026 - new AI job search)

LinkedIn's new AI job search - the interface served at linkedin.com/jobs/search-results/ - removed the sort-by-date control and most of the job filters. There is no "Most recent" toggle on the new interface, and no universal setting restores it. Two URL-level methods still work in 2026. Their limits are stated plainly below.

Method 1: the classic search URL (real date sorting)

LinkedIn's classic job search still exists at linkedin.com/jobs/search/ and still honors its URL parameters, including sort by date. Build the URL yourself:

  • sortBy=DD - sorts results by date, newest first. Honored on the classic route.
  • f_TPR=r<seconds> - date-posted window, in seconds. The classic route accepts granular values: f_TPR=r3600 (the past hour) works there.
  • f_WT - workplace type: 1 = on-site, 2 = remote, 3 = hybrid.
  • f_E - experience level: values 1 through 6.
  • f_JT - job type: F, P, C, T, V, I, O.
  • f_AL=true - Easy Apply only.

Always include a location in the URL. If you omit location (or geoId), LinkedIn falls back to your account region's defaults - a user in France gets US results.

Method 2: date-range presets on the new route (no date order)

On the new interface itself (linkedin.com/jobs/search-results/), the f_TPR parameter still narrows the date window - for the preset values:

  • f_TPR=r86400 - past 24 hours (verified working).
  • f_TPR=r2592000 - past month (verified working).

Four limits to know before you rely on it:

  • Finer values are coerced to the nearest preset: f_TPR=r3600 renders the same results as the 24-hour preset, not a past-hour view.
  • sortBy is stripped on the new route. Date order is not achievable there by URL: these presets narrow the window, they do not reorder the results.
  • The other filter parameters from method 1 are stripped there too: f_WT, f_E and f_JT are ignored on the new route.
  • The new interface's own attribute filters may not strictly constrain the results either: a filter applied in its UI (the Remote chip, for example) can still surface jobs outside it - observed directly. Treat filtering there as soft.
